The Miriam Felicia Lindberg Memorial Foundation (An Israeli non-profit organization, "Amuta" No: 58-027-312-6), awarded Poetry for Peace Prizes to gifted, yet unpublished poets, internationally as well as locally, during many years. Prof. Stendig-Lindberg (www.profmagnesium.com) started this Foundation in honor of her daughter, Miriam Felicia Lindberg, blessed is her memory.
GOAL
The aim of
the Foundation is to publish the writings left by Miriam
Felicia Lindberg and to encourage Contemporary Poetry and
Peace work in our world, and as off the last 3 years its renewed goal
is to sponsor events for Peace, Arts and Spiritual awakening for the
larger community. With your generosity and partnership we continue to
share this hope yearly, to encourage creativity, writing and artistic
expression with a special focus on supporting the Peace process in the
Middle East region. Another area the Foundation is currently focusing
on is the enhancement of environmental friendly organizations, and for
us all to become more aware of conservation of our natural sources. As
part of the SUN BLESSING FESTIVAL 2009 in Safed,
Northern Israel, we want to take this opportunity (which only
happens every 28 years, inwhere the Sun returns to the original portion
it occupied in the days of creation), to become more aware of
environmental needs. By creating a diverse Festival in the Holy Land;
through Poetry, Arts, Environmental displays and innovative programs,
we aim also to give thanks to the fact that without the sun’s energy,
we can not exist.
Beyond the Poetry
for Peace Prices World-wide, and the Peace Work in
the Middle East, the Foundation sponsored the LEADERSHIP
FOR PEACE CONFERENCE,
Dec. 2006, in Ein Gedi, Dead Sea.
